Hello.
Is it necessary to use a Type B USB connector with PIC18F2550. Cant I use a type A one.

Specifically, I am making a lite version of PICKIT2 and could get my hands only on the type A connector.

Will the programmer work??

Hi,

You can use type A, B or Mini like the real Microchip PK2, just down to you and the cable you want to use.

Just ensure you get the pin out correct - plenty of pin out diagrams on the web
