pic usb flash

Hi all, i need your help for developing this project.

I want to read/write data from a usb flash memory using a pic but i have some questions.

Can I read/write data from a usb flash memory just using a PIC or it is impossible without installing a fat16/fat32 into the PIC (I don't know if this is possible).

Thanks in advance.

Not USB, you'll need a host controller (some high end 32bit PICs have a USB host). SD card is possible though.
