pic eeprom programming in pic24f

iam using pic24f32ka304 controller in my project..i need a sample proogram r a small program on

1) Initilizing eeprom..
2) data read & write

have you read the PIC24 documentation "Section 5. Data EEPROM"

and tried the example code?

s.. it means do we have to start the program with the help of nvm registers...
