I have Interested a lot in this topic. but I don't have any resources to obtain things about them. Please give a book or etc.

also how can be proved that in light, energy is transfered at the group velocity?

Hi
Try to get R. E. Collin Microwaves Fundamentals book it's a good useful book for beginners, you can find also some useful results on Mr. Google :D
Good luck

Check Electromagnetic fundamentals for C..K Cheng. it explain all in wave guide chapter.

hi,
I suggest "Time harmonic in Electromagnetic field" by Roger.f.Harrington

phase velocity is to denote velocity of single component.Group velocity as the name indicates relative velocity between the two waves.the product of the two will give square of velocity of light.
