HI

I just a received an admission from the university for research program in Analog / Mixed -Signal IC design.

The Prof there offered me both the options.
But also mention that the effort put in for the program is : Ph.D : M.S :: 100 :75

This figure is little obscure for me.
I might be working on Low power Radio design leading to placing it on a SoC.
It includes MMIC and RFIC design too.

The thought troubling me are:

1. What is the scope or work after completing the program.
2. Are the jobs available in this area.
3. How long will it take to complete the Ph.D on an average.

Thank you for your efforts.

Regards
Javed

Usually it takes 1-2 years for MS and 4-6 years beyond that for Ph.D.

ya it takes 2 yrs for MS and 5 years for Ph.D.it is better to go and work now. Because MS /Ph.D is valued well in the industry.Ph.D may can introduce you to teaching field. Even some industries will look for Ph.D especially govt organisations.
