Periodic structures in FDTD

How can simulate periodic structures (for example: FSS or EBG ) in FDTD?
 

That depends on what environment you implement the fdtd.For example if you use the rsoft software to do fdtd simulation, it provides a easy way to generate the periodic dielectric array
 

in cst,u can use periodic walls for periodic structures,or using ansoft designer to make infinite array
