pcm codec interface

Hi all,

Need your help for this...
I am working on wireless transceiver which is supposed to communicate to another similar wireless node at RF. The transceiver consists of a MSP430 microcontroller and CC2400 transceiver. I have programmed them in such a way that they communicate over the ISM band 2.4 GHz and have used a simple packet format. Tested wireless communication between two nodes placed apart.

Now I would like to interface a voice codec hardware to the transceiver so that I could send voice over wireless link.
I would like to know the following -
1) what kind of PCM codec you would suggest me for voice communication?
2) How do i interface the PCM codec to the Microcontroller so that i can send the digitized voice to the microcontroller?

Thanks all in advance..
