visual spice advance 6.0

Hello,
I am trying to introduce students to PCB design and fabrication but I have discovered that the majority of students have HORRIBLE circuit design skills. So while I can show them how to make a functionally sound PCB it will not perform because the circuit design is bad!!!

Can anyone offer any books, notes, advice?! that can help me to put together some material to guide these students. I'm desperate because my workshop will fail if I can't help my students to repair this weak foundation.

I can be reached at JPersad@hotmail.com

Thank you all for reading this post and for any help you can offer.
Sincerely
Jeevan

visual spice simulator

When I took a PCB Design class, Our instructor gave us three projects to make.

1) We had to Breadboard every project.
- The projects had deliberate errors in their designs and could only be caught once we tested our projects on the Breadboard.

2) Then we designed our boards after we found and corrected errors.

This helped me out. I'm glad we had a good teacher who taught us to Breadboard first this way. We learned a lot that way.

Hope this helps to producing better students.

visualspice

you can also show them some examples from FPGAs. that will be helpful to students.

sound pcb

Minimum of circuit design skills necessary.
Atlease they shud know microcontroller memory IO device interfacing.

Can teach basic interfacing of 8085 or 8051 with available kits.

visual spice circuit simulation software

hi
you can even ask them to simulate the ckt using some software like pspice or orcad. once they are sure the ckt is ready u can proceed with pcb placement and routing

bye

visualspice forum

Hi
you can use circuit simulation and PCB layout design softwares, even industries using the same and they are very helpfull to the students, there are softwares like orcad and visual spice , orcad is a costlier one and visual spice is low cost and equally good

you can download evaluation version at www.islandlogix.com

you can also mail me about any queries about visual spice , we are the promotors of visual spice in india

features of software:

Visual Spice: Schematic Editor and Mixed Mode Simulation

Visual Spice is a completely integrated 32-bit analog, digital, mixed signal schematic design and circuit simulation program, sporting the SAME or more advanced features at a fraction of the cost of other simulators. Visual Spice allows you to quickly and easily capture your schematic designs, perform your simulation, and analyze the results using our powerful signal processor and waveform viewer. You can customize almost everything in the design environment, and easily search for, find, select, and categorize, from over 25,000 device models (50,000 parts in EDA version). Our popular Control Panel allows you to quickly enter component parameters with a single click, and to design waveforms using our graphical signal generator waveform editor, before spending time doing a simulation.

VisualPCB Layout + Autorouter + Viewer

Complete your design with VisualPCB, a multi-layered Printed Circuit Board Layout program, comes with thousands of devices and footprints. The auto placement, and auto routing capability, helps you finish your designs in a hurry.
The system includes VisualPCB layout Editor, Automatic Router, Gerber File Import, Export and Viewing all at an affordable price.

auto placement

let the guys do some pcb practices or real designs with the common pcb sw, point out the errors and do more. as u, i think be more patient.
