Hi,

I have Avr JTAG ICE and there are signal I don't know how to plug on my next design :
-> VTref
-> nTRST
-> nSRST

Could anyone tell me to what I had to connect them and what they are for. Which signal is to reset : nTRST or nSRST ?

I removed the at90s2313 and program atmega16 with upgrade.hex and short the jumper at bottom layer for connecting to XTAL2 of atmega16.

But the avr studio 4.07 does not detect it.I tested it in any way that I can but I does not get response.Please some one help me.

Is there anyone that get good result with this design?

I have done itself multifunction device of the programming-debug and more on one board. In he include:

1. The Programmer 'AVRProg (Appnotes 'AVR910') [+];
2. The Programmer 'ATAVRISP [-];
3. The Debugger ATAVR ITAG ICE [+];
4. Other [+].

[-] - does not work
(problems with 'firmware')

Open questions are:
On Pin12 of the ATmega16 is a jumper. Should it be closed?
What is J1 for?

The text on the old pdf schematic was much easier to read than the new one. Have you used a bold font or different font on the new schematic, or have you used a lower resuloution?
I would appriciate if you changed the pdf to use the sam font and resolution as the old schematic, it was much easier to read at the monitor.

Another question. What does R20 - 0E mean? Does it mean R20 - 0 ohm?
You say that R21 is not used, but I can see R21 - 0 ohm in the schematic.

Hi all:

I´ve seen many posts about AVRJTAG ice, but I want to know from first hand which of the many AVRJTAG ICE circuits-clones do really works.

It´d be interesting that you post your experiences on this, because I (and i think many others) have been confused. Some circuits have level translators, others no; Some have one uC other s two.

The questions is to know which one really works and which can be usefull
to all of us.

May be that for someone there have no sense to build this interface since it´s cheap, but for me it´s rather expensive (and I have delivery delays of various months). On the other hand I have some spare mega16´s and i´d like to give it some usefulness.

Yes it can be used but only for ISP programming.

Am I understanding this correctly....there is no way to program a device directly out of AVR Studio via a simple ISP interface...it must be done through the Atmel ISP programmer, STK500 or clone?
