Dear All;

I have empty board and I need to measure the following in lab
1-the track impedance in high speed (Z0)
2-the dielectric constant (εr)

Please suggest me the needed tools and the calculation equations?
Any document speak about the lab measuring?

Thanks.

PCB lab measuring?

you need a time domain reflectometer. (this costs around 100 000 $) you can measure Z0 with this, if you do the probing correctly.

for Er... i dont know

Re: PCB lab measuring?

A TDR can be bought for as little as $10-20,000 -= for measuring Er thbere is a test method described in IPC documents.
