Hi,

I am designing 2.4GHz monopole antenna (meander) for zig bee interface on standard FR4 PCB. I m kind of novice to this RF design and using ADS for this. But would like to know some kind of thumb rules for this kind of Antenna designs.

(1) Which paramerter of PCB controls the bandwidth of antenna?
(2) Which parameter can be tuned on PCB to shift the antenna center frequency from 2.3GHz to 2.45GHz
(3) Which parameter can be tuned to make antenna impedance (real part) near to 50 ohm.
(4) Which parameter decides the efficiency of antenna?
(5) Does it mater if my PCB is 4 layer or 10 layer? Will it affect antenna parameter?

Thank you in advance..

Regards,
Sanket.

You can use HFSS to simulate it, from the simulation, you can get answer of the foresaid questions.
