Hi,

I need to send character form pc to my electronics by wifi.

Is it possible to send character by using wifi port of laptop and wifi module at electronics side without using internet connection and router. I have no experince in software development on pc side so I need a test program like hyper terminal? Is there any program to do that.

Which wifi module could you suggest?

Thank you for your help.

Mehmet

Hi !

You probably need to create your own network ... It depends what is your "electronics" but if it doesn not have any module on it, it might have some UART ports. If yes, i suggest you to see if an RN171-xv could suit. It automatically create an AP.
Then you can use telnet or teraterm if you want to configure it.

Hope it helps :)

as indicated by mdufayet the Microchip RN171 is worth looking at

you can connect to an existing WiFi network (if available) else create an ad-hoc network

alternatively modules such as Lantronix WiFi modules are worth considering
