pc control using remote with visual basic

i need to control some functions of my laptop (like volume adjustment e.t.c) using a sony remote (sirc protocol)..

i am using at89c51 to decode the sirc protocol.. i need to send it to pc through usb port.. how can i get it in pc through visual basic and do corresponding functions...

pls help me.. i have no idea about this...
