We are in the process of getting some of our equipment UL listed. One of our non-compliances was we don't do a daily functional check on our PAT tester.
I have never heard of a function tester for a PAT Tester . Has anyone else gone though UL and been told this?

PAT testers should be annually calibrated. A functional test before you start to use it would be not to connect the earth clip and make sure you get a fail the other being earthing the HV probe and make sure you get a fail.
In general the earth bonding test should be used with caution on electronic equipment, the test current can burn off PCB tracks. Also high value capacitors in mains filters will show up as a high earth leakage (use DC from a Megger).
