Hi all

Is there any way to create specific spacing for a particular net in CADSTAR 8.0

regards
Antarveena

Give it a spacing class.

In you assignments in schematic, there are net widths, spacing classes & net classes.

Make a spacing class code.
Select the net, choose it's properties and apply the class name to it.

When you transfer to PCB, in your PCB (or in your template) you setup spacing classes using the same name.

Only in PCB you setup the actual spacing required.

I.E. from xxx class to unclassed, from xxx class to yyyy class.

Do NOT set up unclassed to unclassed.

Read the help file for more help on spacing classes.

Remember, when you aply a spacing class to a net, this overrules all your design rule spacings and includes spacing from the nets, pins, pads, vias everything that net is connected to.

Hi Mattlyad

what can one do when he has schematics in Orcad and only PCB layout in Cadstar

You can setup spacing classes and assign them to individual nets in the layout editor.

In CADSTAR 12 there are design migration tools that you can use to import EDIF netlists from ORCAD 9.2.

I'm only occasionally using CADSTAR. I noticed however, that spacing classes assigned to nets can be interactively edited.
The topic is surely covered by the user manual.

How more precise than mattylad's reply do you want?

What more information do you need?

In schematic you assign a spacing class name to the net.
in PCB you assign spacing values to those spacing classes.

Have you read the help file, I'm sure it explains it?
