hello friends,
under what conditions is...

(d ²F ) (d ²F)
------ = ---------
(dX.dY) (dY.dX )

where d denotes "doh" or partial differentiation..

??

thank you in advance,

Hey

We prounce it as doh..nothing other than an partial differentiation .

no.. that was not my question. my question was under what conditions that equation will be satisfied?

thank you,

Hi,
For being partial differentiation, the variable should be independent of each other.

If the function is twice differentiable , and once x and y are independent variables, I think under any conditions the equallity holds.
