import pads to cadence

Hi All,

I have couple of PADS file and I need to perform SI analysis on it. Since I have been using PCB editor and PCB SI tools, I was wondering if I can import PADS file directly into PCB Editor and PCB SI tool without loosing any information.

Thanks

Gaurav

import cadence allegro .pad

You can import PADS asci into Allegro. Your netlist stays the same.
But you should do some clean up.

import pads into allegro

That surely depends on version of the 2 file formats Allegro 16.2 fails to do PADs 2007 import in many off our cases.

pads ascii cadence allegro

That's correct. Allegro only imports Version 5 of PADS.

*.asc format pads

It's better to export the PADS file with .asc format in 3.0version. And after you import the .asc file into Allegro, you have to edit the plane layers and the coppers on signal layers.
