When would a LC output filter be necessary for a 3 Phase Induction Motor Drive?
 

It should not be necessary - its to reduce radiated interference from the wiring. Its best to have an inductive filter input, which rejects the higher harmonics and the power associated with them .

when there is are high ripple contents or harmonics

but normally it wont be necessary motor is highly inductive and the whole circuitry form RL circuit which is low pass ...
