Hello All!

This question is lead out from the electrons world, to the mechanical engineer's area.
Buy the way! Any one ones what is a roamer used to?

To give a better roundness a hole, or give a better surface a hole, or to drill a stack of hole, or to decrase stress in forged material?
Some thing familiar.

It's important.
Thank you!

Excuse me for the of topic;)

A reamer makes a hole to a tighter tolerance than a drill. It has more flutes than a drill and they don't spiral around. Also, it doesn't have a cutting face, it can only enlarge a hole.

If you need to press fit a bearing into a hole you will want to use a reamer on a slightly undersize drilled hole.
