Hello everybody,
Can I use 500 Mhz bandwidth oscilloscope with active 1 Ghz probe to analyze 1 Ghz signals ? Or I should have 1 GHz oscilloscope for that ?
Thank you.

As a rule of thumb, your scope’s bandwidth should be at least five times higher than the fastest digital clock rate in your system under test.

The short answer is, "NO". You need at least a 1GHz scope, but for square wave signals you'll need even a higher frequency scope because square wave signals are comprise of odd harmonics. If not the waveform on the scope will not look like a square wave because of the bandwidth limitation of the scope.
