I'm going to develop an optical transmitter that works at hundreds of Mbps in CMOS 0.35 technology. The transmitter should integrate a serializer and a laser driver on a chip.
However, I didn't find any commercial optical transceiver which includes optical driver and SERDES on a single chip. Do you have any ideal about this? Is there no application value of this kind of chip? or is it too difficult to integrate SERDES and laser driver together?
Thanks
