open linux files in xp

can i open linux files in windows or xp...i mean i'm storin some data or smthn while workin in linux...so i take a copy of it and open it in some oder comp only wid xp...will i b able to open d file..if not den how can it b done?
 

It depends on the file types. ASCII files can be opened in any systems. Other files depends the applications.
 

wht abt matlab files and documents and notepads all generated in linux
 

try to open in notepad using option open with notepad
 

You may need dos2unix and unix2dos to convert the text file format.
