I like to test out a concept on simulation (Pspice) and need advice from the gurus.
Overview:
- Tx/Rx optical communication system
- OOK modulation is used

Receiver:
Incoming Signal -> Amplifier -> BPFilter -> Demodulator

I have the following questions:
- BPFilter introduces significant group delay (Assuming 4 pole, active filter), does the group delay interferes with the signal in any way. In other words, for a carrier frequency of 5MHz, what is the minimum "On" time I should observe?
- I am thinking of building a system that works only with 3.3V, is there a diodeless demodulator that is fast, something perhaps mosfet based? My signals are expected to be around 50mV to 1V and I want system to work regardless of Filter output voltage and diode makes this impossible and reduces the dynamic range.
