Using Ohmetter to test the leak resistor of capacitor. and check equality of the capacitor which have big capacity (>10uF).
If u use VOM, choose Ohmmetter and choose the lowest scale.
Initially, the Ohm value decreases to near 0 fast. Then OhmValue increase to max value slowly (upon to Capacity of Cap) . Cap is usefull. But If the Ohm value donot increase the cap is shorted. If Ohm value donot Increase to near by max scale , the leak current of cap is considerable and u should give that CAP way
Be carefull. If You use DVM (digital mutimetter) the electric charge on CAP can destroy your DVM
Before test CAP let CAP be empty electric charging
when the value showed decrease to 0 fast initially, then
If it don't increase :the CAP is shorted
If it increases but the Ohm value showed is too small about <= 2/3 scale value the Cap maybe have problem with leak current!
