Hi,
Just done a 150W Offline Flyback transformer. As is often usual, the Auxiliary coil turns are not enough to go right across the bobbin....so which of the two attached methods gives the best coupling of auxiliary coil with secondary coil? "Centre bunched" auxiliary coil, or "Evenly spread" auxiliary coil?
The "centre bunched" method, as you know, makes it far easier to wind the subsequent layers on top of it.

Can't say I have an answer about winding configurations, but I think power transfer is maximized by any method that gets wires close to the core.
