Hi,

I need to cool the transformer of my off-line 50 W flyback converter.

Do heat sinks for flyback transformers exist?

Thanks,
Enrico Migliore

hi,
Transformers are often kept cool by being immersed in a container filled with mineral oil.

you can invent your own type of heatsink for Tx's from simple aluminiun sheet 1mm up to existing extrusions that you can glue on with thermally conductive glue...

For low to medium power levels, transformers almost never have heatsinks. Usually they're large enough to not be necessary.
