hi ,i am thinking about; is there any way to obtain transfer function of for example switching power supply with closed loop feedback that we don't know about it and just know it is over compensated by giving isolated a square wave milivolt signal which has been summed with circuit's input reference voltage.and then capturing the output signal with a PC based digital oscilloscope and then converting it to MATLAB format software and then calculating based on input step response and obtaining the phase and gain curves .after that we can know about of the circuit stability.has anybody did that before?I know there is some equipment such frequency response analyzer but it is too expensive.
