Obtaining those rare Toroid Cores

Hello guys,

I was just wondering if those high flux,mega flux, etc. Toroid cores could be salvaged from any low cost appliances. I live here in the Philippines and we really have no way of getting those cores from any shop here. We could only order abroad but it seems ordering those cores are by bulk and it is very hard to get even one of them. Delivery fee is also quite expensive. You have any other options?

Cores with high performance and high price will be
avoided by commercial appliance makers. But toroidal
cores are often to be found in PC power supplies (the
common mode filter, at minimum) and similar things
like UPSes.

That's too bad. In that case, would you happen to know any magnetics components (Toroids) company which allows buying of maybe 1 or 2 of these high performance toroids and not by bulk of huge quantities? Those who are friendly and accepting towards those customers who just build high power power electronics projects. XD
