Hello

There is some kind of web cams that tracks the moving object and making it into the focus of its vision field. So it tracks the body .

Actually I do want to make an application using ordinary webcam based on 2 motors and a microcontroller controller for controlling webcam motion, but the image processing will be done on the pc (I use imagej program for image processing)

I really do not understand what is the algorithm of image processing in these types. I know that for motion detection, I should subtract a frame from the previous, so I get a new image that contains only the moving
object, but what is the case if the cam itself moves? How can it know that the centroid of the moving object is into its focus ??

The main problem is that I need to use the camera as a sensor that indicates conversion between the center of the screen and the center of target (to make a proportional controller using the difference)

I posted this topic in both robotics and image processing forums, because it is common between both.

Can anyone help me by affording suggestions/ideas?
