Re: "Normal"/Industrial Ethernet. What is the diff
It s impossible to give a simple answer so you can find many different
version of industrial ethernet (in fact each PLC company has it s own industrial ethernet protocol)
The big problem of Ethernet/TCPIP is the lacking of determinism compared to other industrial networks. Collisions are not really a problem on a computer network but if you want to send an information to
another industrial component you have sometimes to be sure it gets the information
within a certain time (real time). Ethernet TCPIP cannot do that.
So companies are working on "industrial ethernet" which means increase
determinism or leaving TCPIP tring to get a real time Ethernet
Re: "Normal"/Industrial Ethernet. What is the diff
Hi
yes as it was pointed out .The only difference is the cable BUT ALSO The connector .. suppose that those cables are present in a flamable gas enviroment .. .. So there are several types of solutions .
