No relation of frequency with resistance ....?

hello there all........
As I know that there is not relation of frequency with resistance then why we use 1/2piRC in filters....what R is doing there...:grin:

If you assume, that the expression describes the cut-off frequency of a low-pass filter, fc = 1/2piRC, then fc is obviously depending on R. In so far, the statement turns out to be wrong.
 

The RC product, or TAU is the timing constant of a filter that will decide at what frequency the signal passage will cut-off (either in Low pass or High pass). So there is a definite relation of R with frequency. More over the term 2 Pi RC is the reactance of the filter. Hence R has a significance in filter characteristics
