No audio device !realtek even if installed is not showing

I dont have any audio device installed!! Its showing No audio device. I install Realtek from CD given but after installing it l get boots up. But afterwads it ll not show audio device in sound audio and devices. however realtek will be in Add or remove programs help..Its windows xp btw sp2!
