What is the new trends in PLL design?
Does DDPLLs are widely in use today or LPLLs ( I mean which one is better. digital or analog)

the new trend is to make All digital PLL , or add some DSP functions to the PLL to control the jetter and phase noise

thanks khouly
Well I am about to choose a subject for my final MS. thesis, I'm interested in PLL and by your reply I decided to work on DPLL. could you (or anyone else) introduce me some people working on DPLL
or the state of the art technologies related to PLLs
and finally I want to ask does PLLs deserve to work on it or todays PLL technology has reached the end of it?

it is a really hard question , PLL specially for frequqncy synthesis was the last few years one of the hot topics in research , and i think it will continue for sometime as well

ppl now think , in making the PLL more and more getting wide band, low jetter "phase noise " and so on , and no RF or even diditgal chip don't have a PLL
