a yaesu ft101 and a fl 2100 z linear

hehehe

for solid 100% duty cycle

for am fm ssb cw

be more specific

the arrl handbook is a joke for high power
100% duty cycle design
if this is what your needing

the best thing is a balun coupled phased transistor array

used as 50% and another one exactly the same
also both fed separate into filters for low pass
then phased and antenna matched

this way you can transmit many freq and still get flat band gain

or

i recomend some sort of strip line tuned 4 cx 250 b stages

but remember the latter are valves and do give problems

the transistor solution is better

but man you need a busbar @ 13 or 24 v

or you need to balance the current very carefully in design

this isnt easy with high power situations

so raw is best and a good supply of tubes
unless your prepaired to travvel

so.....

my best adive is to visit a radio fair and buy what you need there
or better is ex tv station debree they sell off

maybee youll get lucky

but a clystron tube is best jacketed and water cooled stripline fed

but again tuning maybee a problem

so,,, transistors banks are best

arrl is a begining but there is magazines about from the newsagent {a good one} will tell you lots more

rf designer mag

or visit rf cafe on the net

also a backup pair
