Dolby digital

Both the hardware and software version of the decoder is a closely guarded secret.

NO ONE has it!

I built "M1" decoder too, it work more or less,
but them use ultra low quality and obsolete parts,
LM324 is actually worst amplifier in the world,
not suitable for audio at all, (you'll get 10 % TND).
So, main principle is right, - implementation is wrong.
Make your own redesign based on the same principles
and it will be much better.

Hi!

The decoders on epanorama.net are analog dolby prologic decoders, not digital!
There was a prologic decoder in Elektor January 1995. I build this thing and it works very well!
The circuit is more complex than the one on epanorama.net.

Dolby 5.1

When you say Dolby Digital 5.1, how can you settle for something like MK-I?

Anyway, remember, in a true surround sound system there is no dialogue leakage in the rear channels.

All the best!

Try the newly released SigmaDSP (AD1940) from Analog devices. This has librayies for surround sound and you can make your own custom program.

SigmaDSP (AD1954) is a three channel version which can also be programmed for surround sound.

Mind you SigmaDSP processes sound in digital domain.
