hi...my project is building a device driver in xp using ddk and sdk... i want some reference material..tutorials on ddk and windows xp architecture will help...

Start with Windows XP DDK. You have a lot of examples there. Or on Microsoft MSDN web site: **broken link removed**

If you are looking for a book:
Walter Oney: Programming the Microsoft Windows Driver Model.
