Need Interfacing of 4 rows of 4 groups of 7-segment display(means 16-segment display)

Hello,

I am trying to use either 89S51 or pic 16f877a. I want to interface 4 rows of 4 seven segment display. means total of 16 seven segment display. Not getting proper idea. Also I have to interface matrix keypad 4x4. Please help with any of the above two micro.

you can try 8051 its relatively easy! i couldn't understand the seven segment part but i do think that you can easily find codes on interfacing of 4x4 keypad!

16 seven segment, every seven segment have 8 output. So, can do matrix connection in form 16X8 matrix.
Here example 16X8 matrix (but in LED).
Other option, you can extend output using shift register 74595.
