need help to isolate individual signal from source, loop it

Isolate indivual signal

Hi,

I would like to feed a wav file into matlab of a particular source and then isolate an individual signal from this source so i can then loop it, for example a car pass by, i want to get the signal at the exact moment of pass by so in this case the highest magnitude, the sample may only be mili seconds long but once i loop it it will be sufficient. Any suggestions??
