Anybody know what this IC is at all ??
Need to get a replacement but can't tell what it's number actually is.
All I can tell is that it's some kind of switch mode controller.
It's out of my Sony KZ-32TS1E 32" Plasma TV.
It's on the main PSU pcb (PSE-324).
This is a not Sony's own pcb so is not shown in the service manual at all.
Would be a shame to scrap the TV because of this !
As per the PCB and the component shown in the photo, i guess it is the UC3842 IC which is disguissed with other name. Just match the layout and pins connected with application note of the UC3842 IC. If you get a similar match on the schematic, you can directly replace this component.
Member pranam77 isn't far out - you actually have a Fujitsu FA3641 which
functionally is very similar to the '3842-3844 series but they're ***not*** pin
compatible with 'em!
I don't think this forum allows direct links to datasheets but you'll find a 22 page
paper on this device fairly readily from most d/s search engines!!
