Hello,
I am working on a project where I want take print out on USB printer through microcontroller. I am using 89c55WD Atmel microcontroller. As the MU has no USB port for USB Host capability I am using FTDI VNC2 IC. But the documentation provided over FTDI website is quite nasty and many times does not work. They have provided an example to print characters over printer but needless to say it did not work at all. I am using SAMSUNG ML-2166W which I think is PCL compatible. I have also tried HP laserjet 1020 PLUS model which is unfortunately host-based printer.

I request you to guide me regarding the matter.PLEASE HELP ME.:bang:

getting the Vinculum to work could be tricky,

are you using a FTDI development board? which one? do you have your own VNC2 programmer? was it tested before?

are you using a stock firmware? which one? was the programming ok with V2PROG?

or are you compiling your own firmware with the toolchain? a quick glance at the vinculum page, and I couldn't find a USB HOST to Printer example... could you link the one you used?

i also have one project in which i have to use usb host so i m thinking to use MAX3421E. so, this also can work for you.
