Hi everyone,

I want to know about embedded linux .
please send the useful article, paper links, websites, online books
on embedded linux,
more about its kernel architecture,
i would like to know how it dffers from the general linux,
how the bootup time is reduced in embedded linux, methods to achieve
small memory size, high booth up time etc

thank you in advance.

Embedded linux is nothg but the customized linux going to port into a embedded device. It may be a board with processor or a Micro controller.
We dont have any specific name for embedded linux like a distro.
The famous embedded linux for micro controller is Uclinux(Micro C Linux without MMU).

If you want to have real-time you may consider using RTAI for Linux:

A nice environment tor industrial-strength embedded linux is ELinOS from Sysgo:

Quite expensive but offers a good tool for configuring Kernel and root file system simply. Saved me hours of work.
