i want to connect 3x4 10 pin keypad interface to pic16F887, but only having 4 rows and 3 columns with 10 pin..how it is possible...because 7 pin is enough .....

I don't understand what you mean by 10pin..
can you rephrase your sentence or explain in more detail?

do you want to interface 4x3 keypad with your PIC?

for a 3x4 keypad, you know 7 pins are enough. Then why you want to interface it with 10 pins? What do you mean by your question?

Maybe his keypad has 10 pins header and he dont know internal connections.

I think gane26 is confused about the header's connection which is of 10 pins.

@gane26 yes you are right that you will need only 7 pins to connect it to mcu,but the rest is NC (no contact) or may be for LED some key pads consists of back light and buzzer also.It will depend on which kind of keypad you are using checkout the datasheet of your the keypad.

If you don't have any datasheet then using a multimeter (diode test function) you can find out the connection.

Good Luck

me too i dont understand..

Shesshh:razz: Exactly
Be more clear what you really want to do or what you are asking!!!

please post your schematic or any photo of that!!! check your 7 pins which are connected with rows and columns (use multimeter to check) rest pins you can just leave floating(no connection)..
