Need guidance on TI DSP 2812 programming

Hey, anyone here who has programmed a ti dsp 2812 or any dsp similar to that??
I am a starter in digital signal processing and till now i have studied the basics of digital signal processing.
Now i need to learn dsp programming and i have been assigned a task to program ti dsp 2812.
So,i need to know the softwares that are most preferred for programming and some books or tutorials or datasheets for studying programming a dsp.
Anyone in this field is most welcome for suggestions.
