Vector quantization help

I need help in understanding Vector quantization. I have looked at the DSP books on speech. I still cannot figure it out. Especially the LBG algorithm. If you know any book that will be of help, that will be nice:

These include Vector Quantization by Gray.

Re: Vector quantization help

LBG includes two criterions:

1. Centroid: how to decide the codebook for a given artition. Codebook= mean of the cluster.
2. Minimum distance: How to quantize a vector for a given codebook.

Iterate these two steps you could design a VQ codebook.
