Are you talking about Borland Turbo C IDE and dos programming?

If so, an excellent book on this is:
"Turbo C memory resident utilities, screen i/o and programming techniques" by Al Stevens.

I have all the code from the book, a complete window system with context sesitive help, menu system, windows etc.
