As metioned before, www.ucos-ii.com. A old version of Jean J. Labrosse book was floating around on the net.

Also Salvo is another RTOS you can play around with.

Look back in some old post in this forum. They will give you some insight in choosing a RTOS.

Try the following books,

Programming Embedded Systems by Michael Barr or
An Embedded Software Primer by David Simon

I am not very sure if there is Ebook. Type in the search engine.

e-cos or lynx os is the best way to start. u can get lynx os free of cost.
