multiprocessor communication in 8051

Hi,
I am using 5 microcontroller (89c51) one as master and other 4 as slave.
each slave control Dc motor. and count number of motor rotation. Master should collect this number of rotation from each slave continuously . I tried to do this, but i am facing problem how to address each slave and collecting respective data. can anyone help me ?
can anyone send me 'C' code for it?
