In the design What is the need of multiple clocks?

Where we are using the multiple clocks?

For multiple application, I means a standby clock which run around kHz, a system clock with wide range in MHz...

Application Specfic.

Simple Example:

If you want to Ring a Bell at 1hr Interval , You will use at some freq(Say 10M Hz).

And If you want to Ring the bell at 8hr interval, You will require one more freq(Say 10K Hz).
