Amorphous silicon solar cells can be fabricated in a stacked structure to form multijunction solar cells. And in this case, there is no need for lattice matching between the layers, as is required for crystalline heterojunctions.

My question is why no lattice matching required in amorphous case? If there is no need of lattice matching then on what basis (parameters) the layers in multijunction solar cells are grown?

Solar cell experts...kindly help!
