MT8888 vs MT8889 IC

Can somebody please tell me that what is the difference between MT8888 and MT8889 DTMF ic other than operating voltage. can i replace MT8888 with MT8889 ic.
 

Possibly - they are very similar but the interface bus requirements are different. One is Intel specific, the other is multi-mode but includes the Intel specification. You might need some minor electrical changes or software changes depending on how you communicate with it.
